LETTER TO SCHOOLS - COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS
State Board Guidance
July 2020 License Renewal - DUE MAY 1, 2020
A number of schools have asked if there will be an extension to the July 2020 renewal cycle deadlines. Please make plans to have all renewals in and submitted on or before the May 1st, 2020 deadline. The rules of the Board, specifically R4-39-105 AND 107 are clear and there is no exemptions allowed. We are seeking further guidance on this from the AG's office. Again, please plan on completing your renewal on or before May 1, 2020.
LETTER FROM TERI STANFILL - RETIREMENT
With mixed emotions, effective March 27, 2020, I will be retiring as Executive Director of the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve the State Board and the Licensees for the last 26 years. I am proud to have been a part of the State Board that works so hard to ensure its licensees provide quality educational programs and fair, sound policies and procedures for the students the institutions serve. The students of the State Board’s licensees, although they may not realize it, are the beneficiaries of a State Board and staff that work tirelessly to ensure their rights and their educational records are protected.
I want to thank the most dedicated and hard-working staff I have had the privilege to work with. All of us – Keith, Kevin, Kimm and Rachel work hard as a team to get the Board’s very important work done right and in a timely manner.
I am pleased to tell you that Kevin LaMountain has been named Executive Director. Kevin will be a true asset as the Board and staff continue to do the important work that is done. Kevin’s depth of knowledge and understanding of the private postsecondary sector will provide the Board, staff and licensees with great insight and help.
I also want to thank and commend all of the State Board members – Trish Leonard, Dr. Paul Mittman, Dick Luebke, Dr. Jennifer Lech, Mike Romano and Glen Tharp. The members spend countless hours reading and studying materials in order to act on matters with the utmost integrity and fairness. I have the greatest respect for the current Board members and all of the members who have served in the past. The Board is truly the best.
I have been blessed and humbled to serve as your Executive Director and will always be grateful for the opportunity to have served the State Board, its licensees, the students and the State of Arizona.
Thank you and best wishes to all,
